144” Nicholson Chipper Disc

Equipment optimisation and refurbishment on short notice

Services Used: Project Management, Maintenance Engineering

A 144” Nicholson chipper was not operating acceptably. MEL inspected and investigated historic maintenance information and identified the disc required urgent refurbishment works that could only be carried out during a planned annual plant shutdown that was only weeks away.  MEL were then engaged to develop a scope of works and cost estimate for the project, then plan and manage the refurbishment works including supervision, quality assurance and resolution of subsequent issues revealed during the refurbishment works on behalf of the client.
